A commentary on the creed of Imam al-Tahawi
A commentary on the creed of Imam al-Tahawi :
A commentary by Shaykh Salih al-Fawzan on al-Aqidah al-Tahawiyyah, the most widely acclaimed and accepted work on the creed of Ahlus Sunnah wal-Jama’ah.
Before you is the English translation of Sharh al-‘Aqidah al-Tahawiyah by Shaykh Salih al-Fawzan. This is an explanation of the renowned treatise on the Islamic creed entitled al-‘Aqidah al-Tahawiyah (The Creed of Imam al-Tahawi). The author of this treatise is Imam Abu Ja‘far al-Tahawi (239-321 A.H.), one of the leading authorities on the Hanafī madhab. The period Imam al-Tahawi lived in was the zenith of the dissemination of the Islamic sciences and he was just one of the giants that this era produced. To illustrate this: his teachers included Imām Isma’il ibn Yahya al-Muzani (a major student of Imām al-Shāfiī), those he collected hadith from included Imām al-Nasai (author of ‘Sunan al-Nasai’, one of the ‘Sahih Sittah’) and his students included the great muhaddith Imām al-Tabarani.
The purpose of his treatise was to state the creed of the early scholars of the Hanafī madhab and to indicate its correlation with the views of Ahl al-Sunnah wa’l-Jamā‘ah in general. As Shaykh al-Fawzan states in his explanation: “This entails a refutation against those who associate themselves with the Hanafī school of fiqh in modern or recent times: They associate themselves with the Hanafī school but contradict Imam Abū Hanīfah in creed; rather they only follow his views in jurisprudence. They adopt the creed of those who profess kalām (theological dialectic) and the logicians.

A Guide To Salat
A Guide To Salat :
There are many books dealing with the subject of Salat in both Arabic and Urdu. Many of these books are well written and provide an informative and comprehensive view of how Salat should be performed according to the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). Unfortunately, there are very few books in English which deal with the subject in the same informative and comprehensive way. The books, which do exist, have three main disadvantages:
Firstly, literature concerning Salat available in English is either so brief that it does not cover essential points in nearly enough detail, or it is so bulky and detailed that it becomes difficult to use it for quick reference, and essential points may get lost in the unnecessary detail.
Secondly, the text of the Salat lacks the quality of direct research from the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). There are also books which contain material without any reference to the original sources.
Thirdly, the majority of books have been written according to the views held by certain schools of thought and for this reason some people hesitate to follow them.
Because of these weaknesses in existing literature in English, we felt that the need existed to produce a medium sized book on Salat which would approach the subject according to the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). The Prophet (pbuh), himself, said: “Pray as you have seen me praying.”
Such a book needs to contain all the essential details of Salat without being too bulky or complicated so that the reader can use it as a point of reference on a journey or at home.
It was also felt that a comprehensive book on Salat in English would be useful for converts to Islam and for such Muslims who do not fully understand Arabic and Urdu languages. Keeping in mind the needs of our brothers and sisters, every effort has been made to produce this book in simple and easy language.
During our research, we sometimes found that differences occurred between established practices in various prayer books. In these circumstances we referred to authentic Ahadith of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), so that the points could be clarified as much as possible. This was, because, for a true Muslim there is no greater proof for settling arguments than authentic Ahadith and practices of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).
We hope that ALLAH will accept this humble attempt because without His Support and Help we would never have been able to do this work. Finally, we ask all our Muslim brothers and sisters to study the text and to strive to offer Salat ( prayer ) according to it. If anyone finds anything unacceptable or to be against the Sunnah of the Prophet (pbuh) we would be grateful if they would inform us.

A Summary Of Al-Qawl Al-Mufid (The Explanation Of Kitabut-Tawhid)
A Summary Of Al-Qawl Al-Mufid (The Explanation Of Kitabut-Tawhid):
The Importance of the subject of tawhid (Monothesim) is made suffciency clear by considering facts such as:
1 ) : It is the very purpose of the creation of jinn and mankind.
2 ) : Allah does not forgive those who die in a state of associating partners to Him,, weather in His Lordship, Names & attributes and or His right to be worshipped alone.
3 ) : Most people do not bealive in Allah accept that they also have polytheism present with them, a phenomena which Allah Him Self informs us of in His Book.
This work is a summary of the book Al-Qawl Al-Mufid Sharh Kitab At-Tawhid by Shaykh Muhammad Ibn Salih Al-Uthaymin (رحمه الله). Despite its brevity, it is comprehensive in elucidating the issues related to Tawhid and its antithesis: shirk (polytheism). It also contains points unmentioned in all of the existing books on Tawhid (in the English language). I have included the grading of all the ahadith contained in the original based on the checking of scholars of hadith such as Shaykh Muhammad Nari Ad-Din Al-Albani And Abdul Qadir Arna’ut (رحمهما الله) and an appendix outlining all the hadith and athar (narrations) that have been deemed unauthentic by the scholars.
